Immana Fellowships Emerging Leaders Research, 2022-2023 UK – Forurenergy Scholarships


The Immana Fellowships Emerging Leaders Research  (Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Actions) is a program led by the London School of Hygiene and tropical medicine, that aims to create emerging leaders in nutrition, agriculture, and health research.

The IMMANA research grants aim to stimulate the development of interdisciplinary and innovative methods, metric tools to advance the scientific understanding of the relationship between agriculture, food system, nutrition outcomes, and health to help make policy decisions that will improve nutrition outcomes in low and middle-income countries.

Immana Fellowships Award Value:

For the IMMANA phase 2 grants there will be two funding rounds. Up to 16 grants will be awarded through a competitive selection process, 8 grants for each round and each grant will be a maximum of £250,000.

Immana Fellowships Eligibility:

  • Candidates have to be able to lead research in international standards of excellence in the suggested topics.
  • The proposed topics are meant to generate innovative and high-quality methods, tools, and metrics that can be applied in the medium-short term for improving the contribution of agriculture and food system in the nutrition and health in countries with low and middle-income.
  • Research and institutions both countries with developed and middle-low income are eligible.

How to Apply Immana Fellowships :

All applications will be subjected to an evaluation by the IMMANA management team and the Chair of the Independent Panel of Experts based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation
  • Scientific originality and excellence
  • Collaborative approaches
  • Amelioration relevance
  • Translational value

After this, those who met these criteria and who are chosen will be invited to submit a full proposal that will be subjected to the same criteria. The Independent Panel of Expert will evaluate the full proposals and the peer-review reports and recommend applications for funding.
